More lines will be coming January 2012 and we cannot wait to build this new clientele. Here is a tid-bit about BIRD DOG BAY as well as pictures of the available styles of jeans... 

"It all started in a little Chicago suburb called Sleepy Hollow, where our founder & principal designer, Steve Mayer, spent his youth. He was raised by a mother who was the town's favorite over-the-top second grade teacher, and the perfectly contrasting Harley riding, fly rod toting, dangerfield-esque art teacher for a father. Both parents showed him the value of living life to its fullest, while on the same note, not taking it too seriously. The Mayer household was never short on two things: belly laughs and art supplies. Steve was a true designer from the beginning - sculpting giant serpents in the the sand, throwing works of art on the potters wheel, crafting whole nativity scenes out of hundreds of pipe cleaners - but never far from a # 2 pencil. His love of illustrating came early in life, and today he believes that creating these ties for you could possibly be the most rewarding design job fathomable. Anyone physically wearing his artwork is the best compliment someone with his talent can receive. Period. 

All of Bird Dog Bay Neckwear start with a blank sheet of paper and Steve's lucky retractable pencil that he bought while attending the University Of Illinois, Champaign where he started illustrating and designing ties over fifteen years ago. There's no exact science to where his ideas and themes materialize. He simply designs neckwear that he thinks is witty, fun and would proudly wear himself. The ties are all 100% 18 momme silk twill, handprinted and handmade. They're just a hair longer than most regular ties, cut to 58" long and  3 1/2" - 3 3/4" wide at their widest spot on the front apron. All of our ties have a long center-stitched self loop & have our Bird Dog Bay custom tipping."

In 1975, designer Christian Restoin gave menswear shirts a glam, feminine appeal with the launch of Equipment clothing, which became recognized for refined tailoring and timelesness. After years of perfecting the shirt, Serge Azria re-launched Equipment in 2010, retaining its sophisticated French minimalism while fusing it with laid-back California style. Androgynous silhouettes and discreet sexiness show the many facets of the Equipment woman: she is strong, chic, adventurous, sexy, and above all, classic. 

    Equipment blouses are a classic staple in your wardrobe that will never go out of style. They can be paired with anything for almost any occasion. At Olive we carry two popular styles of Equipment blouses: The Brett Blouse and The Signature Blouse. The Signature Blouse is a washed-silk blouse with Flap bust pockets and shirttail hem, with an over-sized fit featured in violet, white, and nude. The Brett Blouse has more of a slim fit with a patch bust pocket and shirttail hem and is available in black.

 Blake Mycoskie, the founder of TOMS, decided to take the success of his original idea regarding shoes and expand it to eyewear. The new one for one is for every pair of TOMS glasses sold TOMS will give sight to one person through medical treatment, prescription eyeglasses, or sight-saving surgery. 

At Olive, we carry the Classics 101, the Classics 201, and the Classics 301. Something interesting about the TOMS glasses are the hand-painted stripes on the sides. They symbolize the three elements of One for One. The first stripe on the temples represents you, the stripe on the tips represents the person you are helping give sight to, and the middle stripe is TOMS, bringing the two together. TOMS glasses are 100% UVA/UVB protected and the lenses can be switched for prescription lenses by an optician if needed.
